MAD World - Union Street Gallery, Chicago Heights 2013
Artists from all over the country are invited to submit works for Union Street Gallery’s annual Spring National Juried Exhibit, Mad World. Union Street gallery is looking for art that is surreal, absurd, or simply full of madness! Art submitted might explore or depict bizarre or imagined worlds, creatures, structures, environments, or events. Rather than portray a realistic depiction of the world we live in (which some might say is “mad”), submissions should describe implausible creations of existence turned upside down, where expectations, rules, principles and beliefs are warped or reversed. Fantasy, science fiction, war, psychology, and dreams were all themes that inspired the exhibit title.
